Scripture: Hebrews 4:12- “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
If you have been reading my blog, you have undoubtedly discovered that I have been called to communicate the veracity of the Christian worldview with anyone who will listen. Therefore, this blog tends to the rational defense of Christianity- a discipline refered to as Apologetics. However, Since God has communicated His nature and desires specifically in Scripture, I feel drawn to reflect on His Word in this blog. His Word is living and active- i.e. it is Christ’s very life and it will move on your soul and cut right through it. Even Christ said that man cannot live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Jesus is indeed the bread of life who said that unless we eat His flesh and drink His blood, we have no part of Him. He is the very sustenance of our life- Our everything, our only hope. God’s word in Scripture is the bread of life- the communication of Christ Himself and His deep deep love for His people. Christ Word to his people is extremely sharp, able to cut through the very fiber of our soul- judging our thoughts and motives. In this blog, I have decided to dive more deeply into the well of God’s specific revelation in Scripture as I want my soul to be pierced and transformed by the Living God- the sustainer of and refining fire of my life. I will continue to defend the faith rationally from God’s general revelation as the Scripture commands, but I will also be intentional to communicate the heart of God as He has made known to us in His Word. Soli Deo Gloria
Prayer– Father, your glory and power are beyond comprehension. May you be glorified in me and through my efforts to proclaim by word and deed your infinite Life. Help me to draw near to you through Your Word so that my soul is pierced and I am forever changed because Your Life has overcome me. Purify my heart and mind and help me to grow in the areas where your Word challenges my thoughts and motives. To you alone be the glory in Jesus name.
